EVENT RECOMMENDATIONS

VEHICLES

This event is centered around OFF-ROAD vehicles. They are not required to be a Jeep, however that will be the most predominate brand of vehicle in attendance.

Vehicles we do not recommend

for this event:

Jeep Renegades,

Newer Jeep Cherokees

(XJ, ZJ, WJ, and WK are acceptable)

Vehicles with tire sizes under 31".

Full size crew cab trucks.

(Trails are sometimes very tight on turns.)

COMMUNICATIONS

Proper communication on the trail is very important. Some form of radio is required for the event. Our guides will be using some type of programmable VHF/UHF radio, the most popular is the Baofeng BF-F8HP, or something similar. A CB will not be a reliable form of communication for this event. If you are not able to get a VHF/UHF radio, a GMRS/FRS radio from a farm store would be better than nothing. If your radio needs programmed, we will have two designated people at check-in, there to program your radios with the proper channels.

CURRENCY

SMORR IS A CASH ONLY PARK

We will have multiple vendors this year for you to purchase beverages, clothing, parts, and various other things. Cash on hand would work best for purchasing items as internet service is spotty for debit/credit transactions.

We will also be having a live auction with multiple items that will go into the triple digits. We will take PayPal, and Venmo. However, CASH IS KING.

You will also be able to purchase Raffle tickets Friday and Saturday, on site.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who attends CTO?

  • Last year we had 270+ people at the event and closed registration at 140  vehicles.

  • Any one looking to have fun while wheeling the great outdoors in a full size vehicle. Jeep, Toyota truck, Bronco, Samurai, etc... We do not guide SxS or, RZR's or vehicles of the like.

Could my vehicle be damaged at CTO?

Every effort is made by CTO and our crew to make the trails as safe as possible. You are advised to closely follow instructions given by our guides. There is a possibility of damage to your vehicle when traveling though rough terrain. Any damage is the owner of the vehicle's responsibility. Trails with a higher difficulty rating are more likely to contribute to vehicular damage.
